Attorney Richard Cardinale graduated from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts with honors and has been practicing law in New York City for over 25 years.
He began his career as a public defender in New York City, where he represented thousands of individuals charged with felonies and misdemeanors.
Mr. Cardinale later joined one of Manhattan’s leading personal injury firms, advocating for clients in a wide range of personal injury matters.
He went on to serve as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York, defending police officers, corrections officers, the State of New York, and entities such as the State University of New York and the City University of New York in civil rights and employment lawsuits. During his tenure, he was promoted to supervisor and oversaw some of the office’s most significant cases, including class actions. He tried more than 20 cases in federal court and argued numerous appeals.
Mr. Cardinale then joined the New York City Corporation Counsel’s Office, where he worked in both the Special Federal Litigation Division and the General Litigation Division. As an Assistant Corporation Counsel, he defended the City of New York, its agencies, and its employees in federal civil rights and employment cases, trying multiple cases in federal court.
He eventually established his own law firm, where he has continued to represent countless individuals in civil rights, sexual harassment, employment discrimination, personal injury, and criminal cases, as well as in both criminal and civil appeals.
